100 Word Story

A Twisted Tale Of Ice Cream And Birthdays

Ooh, Chocolate and Vanilla № 2

A drabble is a tiny fictional story told in precisely 100 words. No more, no less.

Sal takes his granddaughter around the corner to get an ice cream cone. Jade stands on tiptoes and orders a chocolate and vanilla twirl, Sal says he’ll have the same.

Jade walks home slowly because she knows they are decorating the house for Sal’s birthday, his 65th. A 1955 T-Bird convertible catches Sal’s eye on the road in front of them. He tells Jade he has always dreamed of owning one.

As they ‘round the bend, the family yells, “Surprise!” In the driveway sits that bright red 1955 T-Bird convertible. Sal’s son walks over, and hands his Dad the keys.

If you’ve written a drabble, I’d love to read it. Just tag me.

A grace note is melodically and harmonically nonessential. My writing will be more than that. 🎶 My name just happens to be Grace .
